Self-Assembling Jumping Robots

MIT has developed robots that self assemble using a single actuator in small cubes. This allows shape-shifting and unique  motion. The motion is generated by a spinning mass in the cube which is abruptly stopped. Two sets of magnets are used: face magnets during attachment, and edge magnets during motion.
