Tactile Screens and Haptography Developing

A screen has been developed that produces shapes on the screen using microfluidics. This will be available in about a year. This can be used to produce keyboard buttons on the screen that disappear or create shapes that appear to have varying resistance to touch.

Another development is detailed recording and playback of sensations which allow users to feel how a recorded object feels. This can be used to help students learn tactile based activities or to enhance virtual reality.
